ALBERTA WHITETAIL HUNTING
We tag some pretty nice bucks here in Alberta. We're hunting free ranging wild deer where they live. In 2010 we had 17 clients tag 11 bucks. Our 2009 hunts went really well. The 2008 hunts had 12 bucks tagged, and our '07 had 100% plus shooting opportunities. We had an excellent season in 2006 as well with 16 bucks tagged and every whitetail rifle hunting client having chances to do so.
We hunt the bush country area around Edson in west central AB. Our primary hunting method involves watching cutlines, pipelines and logging clear-cut fringes from heated blinds. Rattling and scent dispensers are quite effective at this time. Although the season for Whitetail hunting is open from Sept onward our best success on larger deer and when we prefer to hunt them is during November this is when the rut is in full swing.
To reduce the basic cost of the hunt to you we have eliminated meals, lodging and pickup from our services provided. This way you get to choose these options as you would like. A list of providers will be given. The cost of the new 5-day hunt is $1,500 plus licences, hunters must come in pairs or upgrade to the 1 on 1. This will be the best Alberta hunt value you will find. My concept is to provide an honest hunt for a fair price. We even take VISA/MC for deposits to make it easier for you to book your hunt. On this 5 day hunt hunters pay their own meals, accommodations and travel to Edson. For top economy a motel with a kitchenette is recommended. You make your own breakfast and lunch in your room and then eat out at dinner. You get 2 on 1 guiding service, field preparation of game, transportation to and from hunting area. With this pricing arrangement you are in charge of the total cost of your hunt. Why pay $5,000 or $6,000. for a whitetail hunt?
